Barn Cat Buddies...Princess Nikki

I was looking for a dog to adopt on Angels of Assisi website, and I stumbled upon the MasCat program. I decided to email Dianne from Barn Cat Buddies and asked if we'd be able to do it. She responded quickly and we talked about putting a cat in the store.  Yesterday, she brought the cat to stay for a few hours with us.  We fell in love with Princess Nikki!  So we're getting a store MasCat. Princess Nikki, will be coming to join the store as part of our staff!! She'll be the official greeter. Ms. Nikki, will be with us until she's adopted. I'm really excited that we're able to help a cat be saved. Nikki was in the pound ready to be euthanized when Barn Cat Buddies saved her and now she's coming to stay with us for a while! Ms. Nikki, is the sweetest a...nd most loving cat I've ever seen. Nikki will be here this afternoon, ready for her close-ups and ready to show what she's got! If you ever get the chance to meet her, I'm sure you'll love her as much as we do. If so and you are interested in adopting Nikki, please visit: www.barncatbuddies.org and fill out the Pet Cat Application. :-)

Wooly Belle Book Club

Welcome to the Wooly Belle Book Club! Our first meeting will be on Monday, February 27 at 6 pm at Wooly Belle. We are located at 128 N Pollard Street in Vinton.

Book clubs are about more than just reading. They provide a great break from everyday life, both in the escape you get from reading something new and the time you spend with your new book club friends. New books, new people, new viewpoints - these can all have a great and enriching impact on your life. Even if you don't finish reading the book, or don't like it, come to the meeting anyway for the community and the friendship.

The first book we're going to read/discuss is The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs. The book should be available at the local library or bookstore, and is also available at half.com if you don't mind having a used copy. There is an audio book available, since I know some people do their "reading" by listening to audio books on their commutes or during their workdays.

If you have suggestions for the next book, or if there is a book you've been wanting to read and discuss but keep putting it off, let me know. I hope to see you there!
